1. Mt. View Orchards (Mount Hood, Oregon)

Mt. View Orchards is a majestic 50-acre apple and pear farm that grows environmentally sustainable fruit with panoramic Mt. Hood views. They participate in several community partnerships and distribute to local eateries and businesses. This location is at the top of the list of beautiful apple orchards.

Pick-your-own apples begins in August with Macintosh apples and continues through October. They offer over 125 varieties of apples, as well as seasonal fruits like pears, berries, apricots, corn, root vegetables, and pumpkins.

This beautiful location is known for being the perfect spot for photography, having a picnic, hayrides, and visiting Carlos the steer! They also offer Farm to Table dinners and fields of flowers to admire while in season.

The Grateful Vineyard is their boutique winery, small craft cidery, and microbrewery that offers tastings and food pairings. They also host weddings from June through September.

2. Pietree Orchard (Sweden, Maine)

The beautiful Pietree Orchard overlooks the New Hampshire White Mountains with an unbeatable view of western Maine!

They have a retail location open over the summer months that carry grains, jams, apple butter, baked goods, agricultural merchandise, apple cider donuts, brick oven pizza, farm fresh produce, and more.

U Pick apple season runs from mid-August through late fall. With over 50 varieties of apples to choose from, you’re guaranteed to find the perfect apple for your needs!

Maine peaches are also a U Pick option, usually beginning in early August and running through mid-September. These juicy, plump, tropical treats are a must-have for peach lovers!

Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries are also available through the U Pick orchard. The picking season runs from late June through August, depending on the berry. More than a dozen of varieties of berries are available to pick!

3. Apex Orchards (Shelburne, Massachusetts)

Apex Orchards are next on our list of beautiful apple orchards in Shelburne, Massachusetts.

A gorgeous orchard in operation since 1828 has a retail store open from August through December and a winter store open from December through April.

This apple orchard grows more than just apples, though! Other items include peaches, nectarines, pears, blueberries, Christmas Trees, pumpkins, and more.

Pick-your-own apple season runs from mid-September through October. This location is family-friendly, with lots of in-store events for everyone!

In August and September, pick-your-own peaches are also available on weekends.

This breathtaking venue is available to book for weddings in May, June, and July.

4. Stribling Orchard (Markham, Virginia)

The 6th generation of the original family runs the Srtribling Orchard, which has been in operation for over 200 years and boasts 2500 apple trees! With an incomparable mountain view, you’ll want to come prepared to take many pictures on your visit.

The Harvest House is open when the orchard is, with the bakery opening after Labor Day. They carry jams, kinds of butter, honey, apple cider, Virginia peanuts, local eggs and cheese, breads, baked goods, and desserts.

Apple picking season runs from August through October. They offer over 20 varieties of apples to pick! A peach-picking season also begins in mid-July and lasts through mid-August.

5. Gould Hill Farm (Contoocook, New Hampshire)

Gould Hill Orchard is a family-owned business with 60 acres of orchards and farmland. When the orchard isn’t open, you can visit Contoocook Cider Company, an onsite restaurant and cider tasting room.

There are almost 80 varieties of apples! Pick-your-own apple season begins in early August and runs through late October. A brief description of each variety and its uses is listed on their website.

Other available fruits are blueberries, peaches, nectarines, plums, pears, cherries, apricots, herbs, root vegetables, corn, squash, and more.

The 1810 Post and Beam Barn is home to their gift store and bakery, which features donuts and ice cream in season.

With over 80 miles of scenic views, this location is offered as a wedding venue from May to early July, with the option for a horse-drawn carriage!

6. Fishkill Farms (Hopewell Junction, New York)

The scenic 240-acre Fishkill Farms apple orchard and organic farm has operated for over 100 years. The owners strive to grow their food harmoniously with nature and hope to support their community.

Their eco-certified and organic apples are available for picking starting in late August and running through early November. With 20 different varieties of apples, they offer an online visual guideline of which apples are the best to bake with and which make the best cider.

Other eco-certified and organic pick-your-own items include berries, currants, peaches, herbs, flowers, tomatoes, pears, and pumpkins.

The pick-your-own orchard does require a reservation made 2-3 days ahead of time on their website. If all reservations are taken, check back for any last-minute cancellations.

Other amenities at this beautiful location are a Cider Bar with Brunch, an Outdoor Grill, a farm store, and a bakery. Events held at the orchard include live music, yoga sessions, a corn maze, a relaxing wagon ride, field trips, and birthday parties.

7. Sky Top Orchard (Flat Rock, North Carolina)

This stunning Sky Top Orchard is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. They are known for their hayride, bee train, apple cannon, and cider donuts! Sky Top lives up to its name with an unforgettable view.

With 22 varieties of apples, their picking season runs from early August through mid-November. Other pick-your-own fruits include cherries, peaches, Asian pears, and grapes.

In season, the fruit stand is open daily with snacks, drinks, jams, apple butter, honey, fresh apple cider, and pumpkins. Onsite attractions include a playground, animal barn, Gold Rush Gem Mine, hayrides, and more! This orchard offers student field trips and adult tours, as well.

8. Honey Pot Hill Orchards (Stow, Massachusetts)

Honey Pot Hill Orchards is known for its breathtaking location and beautiful scenic pond. Perfect for taking pictures and making memories!

It has 25 varieties of apples available for picking from early August through early November. They also offer several varieties of plums, peaches, and blueberries.

Main attractions include a Blueberry Festival, Cider at Sunset, hayrides, mazes, farm animals, and hosting weddings and birthday parties. The farm store offers a variety of yummy drinks and foods, along with a bakery!

9. Los Rios Rancho (Oak Glen, California)

Los Rios Rancho is Southern California’s largest and oldest apple farm, with absolutely stunning views! It’s open year-round and offers a farm kitchen restaurant, country store, baked goods, crafts, hiking nature trails, botanical gardens, and farm festivals!

And, of course, apple picking at four convenient locations.

Apple picking season begins Labor Day weekend and goes through Thanksgiving. They offer 32 varieties of organic heirloom apples! With 150 acres of land, picking also includes berries, pumpkins, corn, and chestnuts.

The Northside Orchard also hosts an annual Farm Fair with candle dipping, haybale pulley, corn maze, and toy making. They also host weddings, Farm to Table dinners, an annual Apple Butter Festival, an Old West Weekend, private events, horse-drawn carriages, and more!

10. Mercier Orchards (Blue Ridge, Georgia)

Mercier Orchards is a veteran-owned and operated apple orchard that’s been in operation for 80 years. With multiple ponds, they offer catch-and-release fishing for those who come prepared with a pole!

Apple picking is available from August through October and includes a tractor ride through the farm. Other tours include Blossom tours and berry picking.

The orchard market has all kinds of gifts, food, baked goods, and sweets. And don’t forget to visit the winery for hard cider tastings!

A cafe also offers breakfast, lunch, and baked goods. And don’t forget to try an apple cider slushie while there!
