One Bowl Recipes Are The Best

One of the best things about this recipe is the fact that you can put this all together in one bowl making cleanup a breeze. I love one bowl or one-pot recipes for that exact reason, that cleaning up won’t take me hours after creating an amazing recipe. So if you are like me and hate doing 100 dishes after cooking this recipe will be perfect for you!

Fresh And Simple Ingredients

I think the key to making amazingly delicious homemade bread is choosing fresh and simple ingredients. In this recipe I used Honeycrisp Apples because they are my favorite sweet apple to use in all of my baking, they soften up perfectly and retain their moisture great. I also would always suggest that another thing that makes your baking stand out is choosing high-quality spices, sugars, and flours. I think it makes a big difference! And usually, the price is not too much off from the cheaper stuff at most grocery stores.

Freezer Friendly Apple Bread

I love that most of my bread recipes I have made so you could make multople loafs in one day and toss them into the freezer for later. This apple bread (along with my favorite banana bread) are my favorite go tos for busy mornings, so having a back up in my freezer that I could take out the night before is such a time saver! Even kids will love this bread for breakfast or a midday snack!

How To Freeze Apple Bread

  • After baking make sure that you give your bread enough time to completely cool, you do not want to put anything into your freezer that is still warm.
  • Once your bread is cooled, wrap tightly in your favorite cling wrap, followed by a second wrapping in some aluminum foil.
  • After your bread is wrapped I toss mine into a freezer-safe ziplock bag and place it on one of my freezer shelves.
  • You can keep this bread in your freezer for upto 3 months!
  • All you need to do when you want to serve your frozen apple bread is to take it out the night before set it on your counter and you will have an amazing homemade apple bread for breakfast!

Choosing The Right Apples

Choosing the right apples, for me at least, is a personal preference. I personally love baking with Honeycrisp Apple, just because they are my favorite to snack and cook with. Another great apple to bake with is Granny Smith Apples. Now, Granny Smith apples have more of a tangy sourness to them versus Honeycrisp apples but when baking them they also retain their moisture great and keep their shapes nicely. I always say when baking with apples whatever you have on hand or even your favorite apple should do the trick!

How To Make Cinnamon Apple Bread – Step By Step

  • First things first, let’s preheat our ovens to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • We then want to wash our apples, core them, and give them an even dice so we get a consistent bake.
  • Tip: You can peel your apples if you prefer, I like to leave my apple skins on just because I like that rustic consistency. But peeling your apples would give this a nice smooth texture, totally up to you!
Defrosted Frozen Apples In A Bowl
For this recipe I actually used some frozen apples that I had froze earlier this month, I always would prefer to use fresh but you absolutly could use frozen! Freezing your apples are a great way to keep down waste as well and are perfect for baking and smoothies! You should try it sometime!
  • After having your diced apples, let’s get out our mixing bowl and add in all of our wet ingredients.
  • Add in your melted butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla, and cinnamon apple sauce.
  • Tip: I used my homemade cinnamon apple sauce for this recipe it is so so good.
Wet Ingredients In A Mixing Bowl
  • Combine wet ingredients untill you get a perfectly smooth mixture.

  • Next, add in your dry ingredients, so your flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix until combined.
  • After your mix is all combined, add in your diced apples and fold them into your mixture, you don’t want to over mix at this point or you will end up with bread that is too firm.
  • Next, grease a loaf pan with either butter or a non-stick cooking spray and pour your batter into the pan.
  • Place on the middle rack of your oven and bake for 45 minutes at 350.
  • Enjoy!

Adding Texture To Your Apple Bread

For this specific recipe, I choose not to add any kind of nuts. But, adding some walnuts to this bread would bring it up to a whole other level of deliciousness! You could add 1/3 of a cup of chopped walnuts to your wet ingredients to add a bit of texture to this apple bread but you absolutely do not have to. Adding nuts just gives this bread a little more texture and if we are having this for breakfast it would give us a little more protein as well!
