1. Scott’s Orchard
Hazel Green, Alabama
Scott’s Orchard in Hazel Green offers a farm store and a ticketed apple-picking experience near the Alabama–Tennessee line. Its picking page describes a season from Labor Day through mid-October, subject to the crop.
Reserve a picking time online and check the current admission rules before visiting. Available varieties change as fruit ripens, so a favorite such as Red Delicious may not be ready on your chosen day. 2. Steele Orchard
Cullman, Alabama
Steele Orchard in Cullman is a family-run orchard with a bakery and gift shop. Cullman’s tourism bureau lists fried pies, fruit pies, cider, jams, apple butter and other seasonal treats among its offerings.
Treat it as an orchard-shopping and bakery stop unless the business confirms public picking. Call 256-734-5249 for current hours, available apples and bakery stock. The tourism listing specifically recommends checking ahead because harvests and offerings change through the year.
3. Mountain View Orchards
Jemison, Alabama
Mountain View Orchards in Jemison advertises strawberries, peaches and apples from its farm, sold through a general store.
Call 205-688-1434 for store hours and the latest fruit selection, especially when planning a fall visit. Ask about apple availability and any picking opportunities before setting out.
4. Isom’s Orchard
Athens, Alabama
Isom’s Orchard in Athens sells seasonal fruit and vegetables, with fall offerings that include cider slushes and donuts. It is located at 24012 US-72.
The Huntsville visitors bureau’s October 2026 guide reports U-pick apples from October 1–18. Confirm the day’s availability and bag prices with the orchard before traveling; picking can finish when the crop runs out. Market shopping and special picking dates should be planned separately.
5. Holmestead Farm
Talladega, Alabama
Holmestead Farm is a fruit, berry and vegetable farm near the Talladega National Forest. Its own visitor information describes farm shopping, seasonal picking and space for a picnic or walk.
