The Best Ever Morning Smoothie

When I have a super busy morning planned one of my go-tos is this blueberry smoothie. It is packed with vitamins and nutrients as well as some protein to get me going and keep my stamina up. Plus it works with all dietary needs as well since this would be considered a vegan smoothie with zero added sugar.

I also love to add more fruits and veggies to my smoothies. In this recipe I will be adding in oatmeal, chia seeds, bananas, apples, spinach, avocado, and pomegranate juice! It truly is a jam-packed healthy smoothie that tastes delicious, as well as getting in extra vitamins, minerals, and grains!

How Blueberries Keep You Healthy

Blueberries have to be one of my personal all-time favorite fruits — not only are they absolutely delicious but these little blue gems are filled with amazing things that work in keeping our bodies healthy. According to HealthLine, a very popular and creditable website, researchers and nutritionists commonly label blueberries as a superfood that are low in calories and extremely good for you!

Blueberries are one of the smallest fruits with the most antioxidant power as well! So you are getting a much bigger bang for your buck, some might say. According to Dictionary.com, antioxidants are “compounds that inhibit oxidation, a chemical reaction that can produce free radicals and chain reactions that may damage the cells of organisms.” To put it in more simple terms, antioxidants help in protecting your cells from free radicals which can be anything from viruses, bacteria, tobacco smoke, radiation, or even when your body breaks down the food that you have ingested.

Blueberries are also packed with a ton of other amazing vitamins and minerals we all need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In just 1 cup of blueberries, there are 4 grams of fiber, 24 percent of the daily recommended intake of vitamin C, 36 percent of the daily recommended intake of vitamin K, and 25 percent the daily recommended intake of manganese which helps the body form connective tissue, bones, blood-clotting factors, and sex hormones.

Blueberries also are made up of 85 percent water and 1 cup only contains about 84 calories and 15 grams of carbs. So I think it is safe to say blueberries are a superfood!

How To Make The Perfect Veggie Blueberry Smoothie – Step By Step

I love to meal prep my smoothies, and I usually do this after one of my grocery store trips. The best part is you can toss the ingredients, pre-measured, into zip lock bags then freeze them so you don’t even need to use any ice — all you need to do is toss the contents of the baggie into your blender and add in your liquids for an even quicker morning smoothie!

First things first. Grab your blender. When I am making my smoothies, I just toss everything into the blender right after I either wash or prepare it.

In your blender, add in all of your ingredients. You do not need to worry about any specific order you put them in because, either way, it will turn out tasty!
