You can find apple varieties here like Gala, Fuji, Jonagold, Golden Delicious, Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, and Granny Smith.

There are many activities going on throughout the year at Burgess Orchards. You’ll find the chance to pick your own fruit in September as well as make your own fresh-pressed apple cider. These activities are some of the many things that make Burgess Orchards one of the best apple orchards in Utah.

2. Allred Orchards

Provo, Utah

Allred Orchards is located in Provo, Utah, with four other locations nearby. Here, visitors can enjoy 600 acres of fruit trees, including tart cherries, apples, and peaches.

The farm was originally built in the 1890s and is still in operation to this day, now as a store for fresh produce. Now in its fourth generation as a family farm, Allred Orchards belongs among the best apple orchards in Utah. The owners describe themselves as “stewards of the earth”, and their growing methods reflect that philosophy.

You can find some truly unique apples here, with varieties like Zestar, Blondee, Valstar, Gala, Crimson Crisp, and Honeycrisp.

3. Cherry Hill Farms

Orem, Utah

Red apples

Cherry Hill Farms in Orem grows much more than just cherries. This fifth-generation family farm also grows apples and peaches. These are available throughout the year for purchase and U-pick.

When you arrive at the orchard, you can enjoy a wagon ride through the fields. Cherry Hills Farms also hosts events every year, including the annual flower festival, spring blossom festival, and cherry harvest.

4. Zollinger Fruit And Tree Farm

Logan, Utah

Like many other apple orchards in Utah, Zollinger Fruit And Tree Farm has been in the same family for many generations. For more than 100 years, the Zollingers have provided fresh, delicious fruit and fruit trees.

The farm started out in 1904 as a small orchard and has since grown into a huge venture. You can find hundreds of fruit varieties here on land now protected by the state of Utah as a historic site.

Though they don’t offer regular apple picking, you can find fresh apples here from mid-September to December. Varieties include Hawaii Gold, Cortland, Empire, Idared, Winesap, McIntosh, and Jonathan.

5. McMullin Orchards

Payson, Utah

Located in Payson, Utah, McMullin Orchards has been growing fruit since 1927. At first, it was dedicated exclusively to peaches and cherries. Later the owner added apples, pears, and other cherry varieties.

7. The Kinlands

Riverton, Utah

Seventh on my list of best apple orchards in Utah is The Kinlands, which was once called Petersen Family Farm. Though the name has changed, the mission of this farm has stayed the same — to provide fresh produce to the community, right at the foot of the mountains.

In addition to crops, the Kinlands hosts family-friendly events throughout the year, including pumpkin picking, and winter activities. Visitors can also pick their own sunflowers. You’ll find Kinlands produce at local farm markets around Utah.

Apples are available for purchase throughout the year, including during the winter, thanks to the Kinlands’ active greenhouse. There is always something to pick, buy or do at this family farm.

8. Mountainland Apples

Santaquin, Utah

Number eight on our list of best apple orchards in Utah is Mountainland Apples. Despite the name, Mountainland Apples is about much more than just apples. You will also find peaches, apricots, and nectarines grown here.

Located at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, Mountainland Apples isn’t a family farm like most apple orchards in Utah. Instead, it was begun in the early 1980s by a collaboration of local farmers to widen the market for fresh produce.

These days, the collaboration includes multiple locations across Utah and Idaho. Apple season starts in late August with varieties like Granny Smith, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Gala, Golden Delicious, and Red Delicious. The season often runs until March thanks to great conditions and huge crops!

11. Butcher’s Orchard

Fruit Heights, Utah

Butcher’s Orchard is located in Fruit Heights, Utah. Though the orchard does not have a website or social media page, it is a highly popular destination for locals and supplies grocery store shelves all around the state.

You can find all kinds of apple varieties here available for U-pick opportunities. The apples are also highly affordable and made to keep well in the cellar or refrigerator.

Apple season at Butcher’s Orchard begins in late September. Make sure you bring your own box or container to fill up with fresh fruit! You can find the types and times advertised on local U-pick pages in Utah.

12. Paradise Valley Orchard

Paradise, Utah

Paradise Valley Orchard is well-named. It is a small family farm with a huge number of apple offerings. In fact, the orchard offers a total of 29 apple varieties which places it on our list of the best apple orchards in Utah.

Visitors can find pre-picked or U-pick apples here, as well as fresh apple cider. The farmers at Paradise Valley even offer the chance to do a custom pressing, which means that visitors can bring their own apples and make them into cider on the spot.

Paradise Valley also makes an effort to use sustainable practices for growing its apples, so that their crops protect the earth. It is a must-visit on the list of apple orchards in Utah.

13. Day Farms

Layton, Utah

Last but not least on my list of best apple orchards in Utah is Day Farms: a productive fruit and vegetable farm located in Layton, Utah. In addition to farms, there are two local stores where you can get fresh produce from the farm.

Crops vary throughout the year, but you can find apples in due time as well! They specialize in Honeycrisp apples, though you may be able to get your hands on other varieties as well, as well as other crops.

This simple farm is a lot less structured than bigger farms with lots of regular events. But it is still one of the prime places to experience fresh Utah apples.
